GTA 6 Lucia model makes appearance on Instagram with fans demanding free copies.
Since Grand Theft Auto VI will feature two brand-new protagonists, it quickly generated speculation over who might play them – with many coming forward claiming it could be them in leading roles.
Early December saw the very first Grand Theft Auto VI trailer hit and nearly break the internet, shocking fans. Rumours had surfaced suggesting two new characters would join GTA VI, yet only now did their reveal come about officially through this trailer.
Jason and Lucia will play key protagonist roles, similar to Bonnie and Clyde from Bonnie & Clyde. Although Rockstar has yet to announce who will fill these coveted roles, some people have begun taking credit as possible actors who might step into them.
On 17 December, an Instagram account purporting to represent GTA VI Lucia posted a video which depicted Lucia Echeverria dressed similarly. Onlookers pointedly identified Lucia as their representative while others claimed: “That’s her,” demanding free copies of their upcoming game. This YouTube clip included captioning that read: “Won’t say much now but looking forward to sharing more soon”, along with hashtags associated with GTA VI.
Although many initially assumed Lucia’s actress due to their striking resemblance, it soon became evident it was all an elaborate hoax due to Rockstar Games having stringent Non-Disclosure Agreements in place for actors who might reveal themselves prematurely and Echeverria was soon revealed as Instagram model jaelanijade.
Real-life individuals have come forward since Rockstar released the GTA VI trailer to claim credit. On 10 December, “Florida Joker” demanded $1-2 billion dollars from them for using his likeness without permission.
